We're looking for an experiences sales engineer working from a home office in the Southeast or Northeast US.
This position has primary responsibility for the company's sales efforts within the assigned territory, market segment or client list. This position is responsible for managing and carrying out required selling and customer support processes, including the identification and qualification of prospective customers and the development, management and carrying out of relevant, responsive and successful selling strategies.

Responsibilities:
Develop appropriate regional strategies to drive brand sales across a focused set of markets/products within an assigned geography.
Work effectively across the global sales team to support customers which require coordination beyond the local region.
Assist in developing and implementing product specific growth strategies and initiatives within the brand, which is aligned with the Strategic Plan.
Lead strategic engagement with customers on products, markets, customers and applications that align with Product Manager/Office of the CTO roadmaps.
Identify high probability customer prospects.
Develop and maintain successful and professional relationships with customer prospects. Ensure that all customer needs are satisfied and that the company maintains a reputation for customer satisfaction.
Qualify and disqualify opportunities as appropriate.
Develop accurate information concerning prospects and customer needs, and effectively communicate the information to company decision makers and team members.
Provides order forecasts, competitive activity and strategy reports, and lost order reports.
Participate in developing sales proposals and present proposals as appropriate.
Negotiate terms and conditions of sales.
Achieve or exceed order and sales targets.
Notify customers of impending product deliveries and negotiate delivery schedules.
Actively participate in all customer support programs including concurrent engineering and development projects.
Research, document and report industry trends, purchasing history and buying trends related to assigned accounts.
Represent the company at trade shows, technical meetings, exhibitions and workshops. Develop and present technical papers at these events, as required.
Participate in sales meetings, selling events, special multi-business unit sales team programs and assigned training programs.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science or engineering. A graduate degree in science, marketing or business is highly desirable.
A minimum of seven years of successful experience in sales or product management of relevant products (optical components, optical systems, lasers).
Familiarity with general scientific terms relating to light, optics, and/or lasers.

*This job position requires compliance with ITAR Regulations. Therefore, all employees working in this capacity must meet citizenship status and must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident.
