SUMMARY:


Very confidential opening from a new client that is starting up a new optics business unit, with a prototype imaging product that is being released into production to fill orders with their existing customers. Supervise the activities of personnel in the assigned departments that are consistent with the Company’s manufacturing and quality objectives.  Responsible for ensuring high standard of quality consistent with customer needs and ISO 9000 standards.  Maintain a high level of internal and external customer service for assigned departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organizes and assigns work in order to meet department schedules.
  • Verifies that time cards are correct and that manufacturing standards and processes are being followed.
  • Coordinates training of operators or inspectors.
  • Facilitates meetings to ensure understanding and implementation of new programs being introduced to the departments.
  • Coordinates with other departments to maintain Company standards and other matters relating to Company compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Reviews methods and labor standards and administers Company policy at the department level.
  • Maintains attendance, efficiency and training records.
  • Supervises employees in assigned departments and administers Company policies and programs.
  • Reviews weekly build schedule.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Company management.

 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school education or equivalent plus specialized training in supervisory techniques. 
  • Must be familiar with manufacturing and assembly techniques. 
  • Appropriate experience for the area of responsibility. 
  • Experience handling optics and/or micro-optics
  • Training, formal or on-the-job, in Metrology is required for Supervisors in the Inspection Department. 
  • Basic personal computer skills are required. 
  • Training in Hazard Communication, Quality Awareness and Basic ISO 9000 goals are also required.
