 New Product Introduction (NPI) procurement of raw material and fixtures required to support development engineering programs. You will be responsible for the transitioning of NPI from development to production. Work directly with Engineering and Vendors to ensure required specifications are met. Experience working with ERP systems. You will manage supplier performance. Develop supply chain management strategies to develop and implement plans to reduce inventory and improve delivery and quality. 
  • Supplier negotiations from item concept to completion- best cost up front
  • Supplier sub-tier review on materials and critical secondary activities
  • Critical path items defined
  • Sole source issues and alternatives
  • Raw materials review including market supply, risks, and cost trends
  • BOM cost analysis
  • Cross-functional engineering support on project activities that require resolution
  • ERP data file reviews and research
  • Supplier status meetings
  • Production status meetings
  • Supply chain buyer weekly project reports on key project elements
  • Quality requirements compliance
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and must be able to make quick decisions, meet aggressive deadlines
  • Must be skilled in multi-tasking and possess a high level of accountability in order to maximize production while maintaining focus on safety and quality to meet customer expectations.
  • SAP/ERP/MRP Purchasing System - PO and SA Placement, RFQ Processing, Managing Queue's and Workflows 
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project 
  • Candidate must understand manufacturing processes and be able to interrogate Lines of Balance with suppliers to identify opportunities for schedule improvement.
  • Candidate must possess strong competencies including: 
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Energetic self-starter, effective communicator in written and verbal forms 
  • Able to balance multiple projects, good time management 
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment 
  • Experience in negotiating 
  • Export Compliance training a plus 
  • Must be a US Citizen or legally entitled to work in the US
  • BA/BS degree in operations, engineering, supply chain management or related field. 
    MA/MS degree a plus 
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience 
  • Experience in an optical/electro-mechanical assembly environment is preferred
