Seeking Supply Chain Manager, Asia based

Rapidly expanding USA based third party optics and passive components company seeks qualified engineer to oversee our Asian supply chain.  Location is flexible, preferably working out of our current Hong Kong office or a new satellite office in Shenzhen.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for product assessments, tests, and inspections, factory validation, in coordination with US and Asian suppliers, Asian sourcing offices, and Asian test service providers. Select factories for new products, document specifications and requirements. Integrate all available supplier / factory / product data and analyze metrics and reporting to effectively monitor quality, service, cost, and risk components of each process. Monitor the implementation of continuous improvement / corrective / preventive action plans throughout each process. The Supply Chain Manager will drive criteria design activities for re-engineering and new product introduction. They will support the sales team in laboratory, field and customer problems.  

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•    Analyze metrics and reporting to effectively monitor quality, service, cost, and risk components of each process.
•    Monitor the implementation of continuous improvement, corrective, and preventive action plans throughout each process.
•    Integrate all available supplier, factory and product data.
•    Drive specification and design activities for re-engineering and product introduction. Review test reports, evaluate and verify compliance with product definition, specifications, feature sets and operation of products. Write technical documentation for engineering product planning.
•    Assist team members in laboratory, field and customer problems, investigations, and solution testing.
•    Evaluate and document cost / benefit trade-offs between prevention, detection, and failure response activities.
•    Evaluate test and inspection results and determine root causes of failures. Drive continuous product improvement efforts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Fluent in Mandarin and English
•    Familiarity with telecom and datacom regulatory test standards and test methodologies.
•    Familiarity with fault isolation and root cause analysis techniques.
•    Familiarity with manufacturing processes of optical transceiver modules like SFP, XFP, SFP+, and QSFP.
•    Knowledge of optical fiber, CAT5e/CAT6/CAT7, coaxial cable, and Telcoflex cable specifications and manufacturing processes for each.
•    Seven years industrial experience
•    Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Experience communicating with and sourcing products from contract manufacturers in Asia.
•    Experience working with cross functional project teams.
•    Familiarity with 2D CAD drawings and 3D solid modeling CAD software.
•    Ability to read schematics and familiarity with PCB schematic capture software.
•    Ability to read software code and basic programming or scripting skills.

EDUCATION:
•    BS in Mechanical, Electrical engineering or Optical Engineering
