Position Summary:
Responsible for promoting Quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the product line utilizing and developing existing quality management systems and procedures. This is ahands-on position which requires the performance of quality inspection/analysis/control throughout the manufacturing process. This position requires a technical foundation and the ability to understand and utilize scientific information.
 
Essential Functions:
•   Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain a quality plan to bring the Company’s Quality Systems and Policies into compliance with quality system requirements
•   Effectively interact with Production, Development, and Sales teams to maintain product supply in conformance with internal and external quality expectations
  Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
•   Ensure compliance with national and international standards (ISO) and legislation
  Assess product specifications for the company and its suppliers, and compare with customer requirements
•   Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out, and evaluated, and that product specifications are managed
•   Liaise with customers’ auditors and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications
•   Instill QC best practices into manufacturing processes
  Formulate and manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems pertaining to the QA/QC requirements
  Manage and maintain the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods
•   Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports
  Set-up and maintain controls and documentation procedures
•   Identify relevant quality-related training needs and deliver training
  Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues
•   Assure the application of environmental and health and safety standards
  Prepare clear explanatory documents such as customers’ charters
 
Skills/Requirements:
•   Bachelor’s Degree in an applied science or engineering field
•   5 years prior experience in Quality Assurance for a scientific grade product manufacturer
  Demonstrated experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers, or distributors
  Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills
•   Proficiency in Microsoft Office
